Project 3: ideas

ideas: from the site analysis, the site is located in an extreme busy street,
while pedestrian walking by are families groups, elderlies, and sometimes youths.

Therefore:
1. the gallery created should suit the target groups
--> from observations, target groups may not be so familiar with artworks --> the owner
of the gallery/shop will be willing to share his knowledge about artworks

Idea generated:
1. The gallery has its entrance set back
a). to attract/ guide pedestrian to look into the gallery --> gallery is a shop as well
b). it has a central courtyard --> will be in quite a large scale --> to share his knowledge
--> large courtyard --> able to hold different functions/ exhibitions
c). as the courtyard is situated in the middle of the gallery --> movement around the
courtyard
d). as Swetik mentioned before, apartment should be separated from gallery , ie. not having
a direct access with the gallery while the owner will not have to walk across the gallery
in order to go back to the apartment --> apartment will locate on the first floor of the
gallery --> separate entrance --> share kitchen with gallery --> to prepare food and
stuffs when there is function held in the gallery
e). the office, stockroom, and the workshop will be located on the ground floor
